AWOL: Foreign Policy in Campaign 2012

Why isn't foreign policy discussed in this year's US elections?

The Stream recently hosted a discussion on foreign policy in relation to the US presidential elections. Joined by former Romney campaign national security spokesperson Richard Grenell (@RichardGrenell), National Security Network's Heather Hurlburt (@natsecHeather), and online community members in a Google+ hangout, the discussion examined US policy towards Iran's nuclear programme, the Iraq and Afghanistan wars and US-Africa relations.

The event was broadcast September 5 from the Google studios at the Democratic National Convention in Charlotte, North Carolina and was hosted by The Stream's Digital Producer Malika Bilal.

What do you think? Are there other foreign policy issues that have been overlooked during the US presidential campaign? Send us your thoughts and comments on Twitter using #AJStream.
