Military equality advocate Charlie Morgan passed away after her battle with breast cancer on February 10. Chief Warrant Officer Morgan appeared on The Stream in January to speak about the impact of the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA) on gay service members. Due to the stipulations of DOMA, the military only recognises marriages between a man and a woman, leaving Charlie's wife, Karen, without survivour's benefits.
