Edward Snowden: The movie

Hong Kong filmmakers dramatise US whistleblower's time there.


A group of independent and amateur filmmakers in Hong Kong recently released a 5-minute film on YouTube dramatising Snowden's hotel stay. In short vignettes, the film also gives fictional accounts of a local reporter to whom Snowden reaches out, the CIA's Hong Kong staff, and Hong Kong police on the search.

To play the role of Snowden, the filmmakers found Andrew Cromeek, an American English teacher working in Hong Kong.
