Does the British government have the right to filter online porn?

Is the war on online porn in the UK a slippery slope into censorship? Prime Minister David Cameron has proposed a set of online filters that people will have to opt out of, which are meant to protect children from pornographic websites. Proponents claim this is a necessary measure that will attack child porn, depictions of rape and violence against women. Critics, however, see this as a form of censorship and believe the filters may also prevent children from accessing sexual health information. So, is it the place of the government to set these restrictions or is this an impediment on internet freedom? Join the conversation at 1930GMT.
