Facing international pushback, numerous demonstrations and a lack of transparency, Israel’s controversial Prawer Plan has now been shelved. The bill would have relocated tens of thousands of Bedouins from the Negev. Critics described it as “ethnic cleansing,” but proponents claimed it would have provided Bedouins with better opportunities and living conditions. But with revelations that the Israeli minister behind the plan never received approval from Bedouin communities, division grew within the Knesset. And on Thursday it was finally announced that it would be halted. So is this a victory for Bedouins or merely a delay? Join us at 19:30 GMT.
