Zambians continue fight for a new constitution

Youth protesters reignite the call for a constitutional road map.

More than 40 youth activists in Zambia were released without charge after being detained for wearing T-shirts saying “New constitution a must. Release it now!”.

The protesters, who are with the international development organisation ActionAid, took to the streets on Youth Day Wednesday to demand the country’s president, Michael Sata, maintain his promise to deliver a road map for a new constitution.
