Is Erdogan unbeatable?

We discuss the reasons behind the electoral success of Turkey’s Justice and Development Party.

Turkey’s ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP), led by PM Recep Tayyip Erdogan, came out a winner in local elections. This comes despite anti-government protests, Twitter & YouTube bans, and major corruption allegations. Erdogan, who called the allegations a “foreign plot” and “an attempt to damage the government”, suffered only a five point drop in voter support.
