Indian politician Mulayam Singh Yadav sparked outrage online with comments he made on Thursday questioning the death penalty given to the three men convicted for gang-rapes in Mumbai.
Addressing a political rally, Yadav said, “it is not right to give death penalty for committing rape, boys make mistakes.” He promised that if his Samajhwadi Party (SP) comes to power, they will check what Yadav considers the misuse of anti-rape law.
