Hundreds in Mexico City blocked traffic Friday to protest new rules that limit when some cars can be on the road.

The city has traditionally banned older cars from being on public roads for one day of the week, but new anti-pollution measures place greater restrictions on drivers operating vehicles older than nine years. Some vehicles may be prohibited from operating for one weekday in addition to multiple Saturdays a month.
