Some cry foul over World Cup champions’ victory dance
The German team’s ‘gaucho dance’ prompts online debate.
The football World Cup champions are causing a stir online after being accused of racism for a “gaucho” dance at their victory party in Germany.
Six of the star German players entered their victory party Tuesday, hunched over and singing, “This is how the gauchos [Argentines] walk, the gauchos walk like this”. They then jumped upright and sang, “This is how the Germans walk, the Germans walk like this”. Germany defeated Argentina for the World Cup final.
