West African countries suffering Ebola outbreak say #GiveUsTheSerum

Many online call for experimental Ebola treatment to be made available to all.

Frustrated with the absence of an effective Ebola cure, West Africans are calling for an experimental treatment developed in the US to be made available to them. According to the World Health Organisation (WHO), Ebola has thus far infected more than 1800 people in West Africa, and killed more than 1,000.

ZMapp, an Ebola treatment developed by a private US company, has been used to treat two US aid workers infected with Ebola, as well as a Spanish priest. The priest died on Tuesday, but the symptoms of the two Americans have improved since taking the drug.
