US governor compares Detroit floods to vacation home damage

Twitter users mock Governor Rick Snyder with #JustLikeTheDetroitFlood.

In an attempt to display empathy with victims of the historic floods in the US city of Detroit, Michigan Governor Rick Snyder compared their plight to his recent experience with damage at his vacation home.

“We just recently had holes in our roof from storm damage to our lake house. We have a vacation place and we had a limb come down on the roof and had water running through the whole place,” Snyder told a local radio station.

Michigan blogger Chris Savage turned to Twitter to mock Snyder’s remarks with #JustLikeTheDetroitFlood.
