Militarising US police

The shooting of an unarmed black teen highlights a trend in law enforcement.

Protests, clashes, curfews and looting are playing out in Ferguson, Missouri following the police shooting of an unarmed black teen on August 9. The death of Michael Brown, 18, has brought the country to the streets and focused the spotlight on a trend in protecting the law: the militarisation of US police.
