Colombia’s former president: ‘I am the opposition, not a criminal’

Opposition party protests in the Senate, denying accusations of spying on the government.

Amid accusations of spying and election fraud, members of Colombia’s opposition Democratic Centre party staged a protest in the Senate Tuesday, denying the allegations against them with the message: “I am the opposition, not a criminal”.

Holding up posters, senators, including former President Alvaro Uribe, denied recent claims that their party paid a hacker to spy on different government officials. President Juan Manuel Santos has ordered an investigation into the matter.
