Did this man live-tweet US-led airstrikes in Syria?

Twitter user may have broken news of first airstrikes targeting armed group ISIL in Syria.

The first word of US-led airstrikes in Syria may have come from Twitter, according to a man who says he heard them in the northern city of Raqqa.

Abdulkader Hariri tweeted “what might be the beginning of US airstrikes” targeting the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL). His tweets were posted about half an hour before the airstrikes were confirmed by the US Department of Defense.
