#MuslimApologies tackles pressure to say ‘not in our name’

Some question expectations for Muslims to condemn violent groups’ atrocities.

Muslims on Twitter are pushing back against what some say is constant pressure on the community to reject the actions of armed groups like the Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant (ISIL). 

Young British Muslims recently started a campaign called #NotInMyNamesaying ISIL has “nothing to do with us” and they “are the real enemies of Islam”.
