Indian boxer refuses bronze medal following controversial loss
Indians are outraged over ‘biased’ judgement in Asian Games boxing match.
Many Indians on social media are supporting boxer Sarita Devi’s decision to refuse the bronze medal following her controversial loss to South Korea’s Jina Park. The fight, which was the women’s lightweight semifinal at the Asian Games, took place in Incheon, South Korea on Tuesday.
In a 3-0 vote, Devi was declared the loser despite appearing to many to have gotten the best of Park.
