Indian actress and supermodel Shenaz Treasurywala is demanding Prime Minister Narendra Modi crack down on sexual assault in the country. She wrote an open letter to the PM, along with icons from cricket and Bollywood, describing her and her family’s experiences of sexual harassment and assault in India.
Treasurywala challenged the narrative shaming female assault victims. She placed the shame not just on the perpetrators, but on all men for failing to protect women.
