#Asians4BlackLives: Protesters block Oakland police department

Demonstration calls for cross-racial solidarity and end to police killings of unarmed black men.

A group of activists in Oakland, California blocked the entrance to local police headquarters on Monday. The demonstrators sought to call attention to police violence against black Americans.

The protest, organised by a coalition of black, white and Asian groups, is latest in a string of demonstrations that occurred over the weekend. In Washington, DC and New York, thousands rallied against the killing of unarmed black men by police officers.

As part of Monday’s protest in Oakland, demonstrators also chained themselves together to block road intersections.
