The Sokola 2 campaign was announced January 30, and will be the second offensive coordinated by the United Nations and Congolese military (FARDC) against the FDLR (Democratic Forces for the Liberation of Rwanda). A 2009 campaign against the group led to widespread displacement and, according to human rights monitors, the deaths and abuse of hundreds of civilians.
