Everyday ‘male entitlement’ to women’s bodies highlighted

Photographer Allaire Bartel‘s latest project brings attention to sexual harassment, rape culture and violence against women. The series of images, entitled “Boundaries“, aims to capture how women might feel in an environment dominated by “male entitlement”. Bartel began the project as a participant in the 2014 Young Photographers Alliance Mentoring Program, and says she was inspired by her own experiences. She describes her project as a way to illustrate how aggressive male behaviour and oppression can impact the lives of women on a daily basis.
