Backlash as Kenya stops Somali money transfers

Move comes after the Garissa massacre by al-Shabab.

Kenya is receiving criticism for a recent decision to suspend the licenses of 13 Somali money-transfer services in the wake of al-Shabab’s attack on Garissa University College.

Somalia’s central bank governor responded by warning the move could hurt Somalis living in Kenya, who rely on money sent from abroad.
