Ethiopians are criticising US Under Secretary of State for Political Affairs, Wendy Sherman, for her comments on the state of their government. During a press briefing in the capital Addis Ababa last week, Sherman praised “progress” in Ethiopia, saying it is a “democracy that is moving forward…every time there is an election, it gets better and better”.
