South Africa’s immigrants under attack

What is fueling anti-immigrant violence and what will it take to stop it?

Six immigrants were killed in South Africa and hundreds displaced by recent violence which has also targeted foreign-owned shops. The incidents started in Durban, but spread to Johannesburg. Crowds with machetes have chanted “foreigners must leave”.  Official data suggests two million foreigners live in South Africa. With an unemployment rate of 24%, some say foreigners are taking their jobs.  We discuss at 19:30GMT.
