Video of US cop kicking black suspect in the face released

Delaware police release 2013 footage after officer indicted on felony assault charge.

A police officer from the US state of Delaware was indicted on a felony assault charge on Monday for the 2013 kicking of an unarmed suspect in the face, breaking his jaw and knocking him unconscious.

The Dover Police Department released dashcam footage on Thursday showing Cpl. Tom Webster as he kicks a black man who appeared to be complying with officers to get on the ground. Webster was initially put on paid administrative leave following the incident, pending investigation. However, chargers were not made and he returned to full duty in 2014. On May 4, 2015, the Delaware Attorney General’s office indicted the officer on the charge of second degree assault. Webster turned himself in the same day.
