A prominent Irish journalist stole the spotlight by coming out in the midst of heated national debate on gay marriage. Ursula Halligan, 54, came out on Friday, just one week ahead of the May 22 referendum on same-sex marriage in Ireland. She explained in a column in the Irish Times how the upcoming vote drove her to ‘tell the truth about herself’.
