Kids play ‘police vs. protesters’ riot game in Portuguese town
Backlash after police hold simulation for Children’s Day celebration.
Local government officials in the Portuguese town of Portalegre are receiving criticism for hosting a game of “police versus protesters” during Children’s Day celebrations on Monday.
Pictures and video posted online show children dressed up as police with riot shields, while others throw paper “rocks” at them. Police say the simulation game was meant to teach children “appropriate civic behaviour”.
