Nigerians want transparency for National Assembly pay
#OpenNASS focuses on lawmaker salaries.
Members of Nigeria’s 8th National Assembly were sworn in last week, but a campaign is already demanding accountability for the lawmakers’ salaries. BudgIT, a startup focused on sharing information on the country’s federal budget, is asking the Nigerian legislature to open up details on how it spends the lump sum of money allocated to the National Assembly. Using #OpenNASS, for Open National Assembly, they’re encouraging fellow Nigerians to do the same.
