Anti-gay Facebook rant destroys Lithuanian DJ’s career

Electronic music festivals drop Ten Walls from lineups as Lithuania discusses homophobia.

Lithuanian music producer Marijus Adomaitis, known by his stage name Ten Walls and for his 2014 single “Walking with Elephants,” may have destroyed his career with a homophobic Facebook post.

On June 3, Ten Walls posted on his personal Facebook page in Lithuanian: “I remember producing music for one Lithuanian musician, who tried to wash my brain that I don’t need to be so conservative and intolerant about them [gays].” Ten Walls went on to make graphic claims and referred to homosexuals as “people of a different breed.” He also linked homosexuality to alleged sexual abuses by Catholic priests. Although the Facebook comment was quickly deleted, it sparked a huge conversation and significant backlash.
