Trending hashtag discusses hate, racism and smartphones.

Netizens from across the Middle East and North Africa took to Twitter with the hashtag حياتنا_احلي_بدون#, which translates to “our lives would be better without”, to express their frustration with everything from racism and inequality to school exams.

The hashtag, which hit over 27,000 mentions on Twitter on July 7th, has spread to Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain and Abu Dhabi.  

Many used the hashtag as an opportunity to discuss negative characteristics such as hate and ignorance:
