Trending #1MDBmovie jokes poke fun at state-owned investment fund scandal allegedly involving the prime minister.

Update: Prime Minister Najib Razak has fired various critics in his government. Among them are the attorney general investigating the corruption allegations against him, as well as his deputy premier, Muhyiddin Yassin, who raised questions over investigation delays and the government’s closure of newspapers. Razak has also replaced four other ministers in his cabinet, citing the need for a “strong team”, but many argue this is an attempt to silence his critics.
