Serbians say #NoKosovoUNESCO

As leaders of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) prepare to vote on Kosovo’s membership, some Serbians are campaigning to keep the young Balkan country out of the organization.

 

Diplomats meeting at UNESCO’s general conference in Paris are expected to vote on Kosovo’s membership on November 9. While leaders of the Albanian-majority country are lobbying for acceptance, the Serbian government, which does not recognise Kosovo’s independence, is trying to block the membership. 

 

Many online are sharing #NoKosovoUnesco to voice opposition to the membership.
