Stream 360 drops you into West Baltimore library

Dip into a hurting community’s safe space with our virtual reality experience.

In a US city where murder rates reach record highs and police violence has triggered mass unrest, one public library has become a safe haven. The Pennsylvania Avenue branch of Baltimore City’s Enoch Pratt Free Library kept community members safe in April as crowds torched a nearby pharmacy, outraged by the death of Freddie Gray, a young, black Baltimore resident who died in police custody. Under the direction of branch manager Melanie Townsend Diggs, the library is a sanctuary of service and learning. The Stream traveled to Baltimore to bring you this virtual reality tour. To walk through the library and the streets around it, play with the video.
