The Stream

Mobilising under Trump

The Stream takes viewers to the centre of the Women’s March on Washington.

Anger and disappointment over the election of Donald Trump are being channeled into widespread rallies a day after the race-baiting, sexist businessman is inaugurated 45th president of the United States.

Hundreds of thousands of unlikely activists are joining the Women’s March on Washington, demanding the new administration respect human rights as well as religious and cultural diversity. But will their outrage translate into political power, as Trump supporters’ frustration with Washington helped him win the White House? And will the people who voted to break up the political establishment actually overhaul the government?

On Saturday at 19:30 GMT, a special edition of The Stream takes Al Jazeera into the centre of the protests, asking activists on all sides of the political spectrum what the future of organising looks like under Trump.
