Culturally European, Muslim by religion, Tariq Ramadan’s views have not always been without controversy.

His supporters say he has been working for decades to build bridges between Western Muslims and wider society, mainly in Europe.  But in France, where he spends a lot of time, he has been accused of holding misogynistic views and harbouring a hidden agenda to Islamicise Europe.

Ramadan joins The Stream to discuss his latest book, “Introduction to Islam”  and the challenges that Muslims face today.
