Midterms live: AJStream meets AJ+
In a special three-hour broadcast, we go behind the headlines to highlight the stories the matter.
Congressional midterm elections in the United States are generally seen as a report card for the president of the day. And, with Donald Trump in power and an unusually high turnout predicted, that may be more true than ever before.
Immigration, women’s rights, the economy, and bitter disputes over Trump decisions such as nominating arch conservative Brett Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court, will play on voters’ minds as they cast their ballots for all 435 seats in the House of Representatives, 35 of the 100 seats in the Senate and 39 state and territorial governorships.
The results, it is no exaggeration to say, could change the course of US politics.
To mark this event, The Stream is teaming up with our colleagues at AJ+ for a special three-hour live broadcast on YouTube and Facebook. We will bring you results as they come in but we will also seek to go deeper, to tell you the human stories behind the raw data and introduce you to those who will be most affected by the results.
