Filmmaker Bassel Shahade was killed in Syria on May 28th. He had recently won a Fulbright scholarship to study in the United States, but returned to Syria after the uprising began. Shahade trained opposition activists in film techniques, eventually ending up in Homs, where he was killed by sniper fire. In the memorial video below, he speaks to a group of activists during a training session.
