Uproar online after 12 killed in US #TheaterShooting

At least 12 people have been killed and 50 wounded in the US state of Colorado after a masked gunman opened fire at a midnight premiere of the new Batman movie. The youngest reported victim of the shooting was said to be three months old.
Police arrested the suspected shooter shortly after the attack, identifying him as 24-year-old James Holmes. The suspect was reported to have used multiple guns, including an automatic weapon, and to have fired tear gas inside the theatre.
News of the shooting broke online, with #theatershooting - using the US spelling - receiving 35,000 mentions in several hours. Many in the theatre were tweeting before the shooting, including victim Jessica Redfield, a budding sports journalist who was killed in the attack.
