Viral video sparks conversation about race in the US
Blogger Franchesca Ramsey tries to address race through comedy with a YouTube hit.
Some called it offensive, others labeled it brilliant. Either way, blogger and comedian Franchesca Ramsey’s latest YouTube video “Shit White Girls Say… to Black Girls” has ignited an online conversation about race in the United States.
The video posted on January 4 has gone viral, gaining over 2 million views in just two days. In it, Ramsey, who is black, dons a blonde wig and acts out comments she’s heard over the years about her hair, rap music, and blackface makeup.
