A video showing a university employee telling a black student he was harassing staff by sitting in a waiting room went viral after he posted it to Twitter on Wednesday.
Kevin Bruce, a student at Kennesaw State University in Georgia, said he went to his academic advisor’s office after repeated attempts to set up an appointment. According to Bruce, he told an assistant that he would wait to talk to his advisor. A staff member later told Bruce he was harassing his advisor.
The university responded with a tweet the next morning:
We are aware of the video and situation. Thanks for sharing your concern with us. A formal complaint process has begun.
