Mexicans tweet President Peña Nieto: ‘I demand your resignation’

Missing students and mass graves fuel frustration among country’s citizens.

Calls for the resignation of Mexican President Enrique Peña Nieto have rippled online. Recent incidents of violence fueled protests in the country and prompted citizen calls for government officials to step down.

In late September, 43 students from a teaching college in #Ayotzinapa went missing, and in the following month, the discovery of mass graves in Iguala sparked ongoing protests against violence and alleged corruption.

#DemandoTuRenunciaEPN or “I demand your resignation Enrique Peña Nieto” trended as many expressed their frustration with the current administration.
